TED Kocaeli Koleji 7.sınıf öğrencileri, Aytepe Orman Eğitim ve Tanıtım Ünitesi’ni ziyaret ederek Fen Bilimleri ve Matematik dersi işbirliğiyle orman ve orman kaynaklarını koruma hakkında eğitim aldı.

Öğrenciler, orman gençleştirme ve bakım çalışmaları hakkında bilgi aldı, bitkilerin yaşam döngüsü, ormandaki canlı cansız faktörleri bizzat gözlemleme fırsatı yakaladı. Kocaeli’nin endemik türleri ve zengin bitki örtüsünün farkındalığını sağlayan gezimiz, öğrencilerimize unutulmaz bir gün yaşattı.” PlantNet” uygulamasıyla incelemek istedikleri bitkilerin latince isimlerini öğrendiler. Aynı zamanda “matematik her yerde” sloganı ile yeryüzünü başlangıç noktası kabul ederek ağaç üzerinde ve yer altında yaşayan bazı canlıların konumlarını tamsayılar ile ifade ettiler. Topladıkları yapraklarla sınıf içi etkinliği yaparak tam sayılarla işlemleri somutlaştırdılar.

Etkinlik sonunda orman ve orman kaynaklarının korunmasında üzerimize düşen sorumlulukları bir kez daha vurgulandı. Orman İşletme Müdürlüğünce dağıtılan tohumlarla noktalanan gezimiz öğrencilerimize hem eğitsel hem de keyifli bir deneyim sağladı.
